Emotional self - regulation is based on the ability of people learning how to manage their own emotions. Although, it may appear to be complex, these skills / interventions can be easily taught.
Learning how to set our goals and derive a plan in order to meet those goals in a manageable way can be achieved. This is a skill that we are not often taught, Mindful Adaptations will help teach how to derive goals with a concrete plan in order to meet those goals. The self - reward for meeting the goals speaks for themselves.
By understanding the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs sets the stage for the core beliefs that we ultimately set for ourselves. By understanding this connection, we can learn to manage our thoughts that create our perception of reality.
Practicing meditation / mindfulness enhances our awareness of our thoughts and feelings. One misnomer is that meditation / mindfulness has to take place in a seated position with legs crossed, sitting still, and in silence. This is not always the case with children when teaching them these skills. We teach these skills in a fun / creative way.
There are different ways in which one communicates; passively, assertively, passive - aggressively, and aggressively. We teach how to communicate assertively using effective forms of communication as well as interview training, and public speaking skills. All skills that can last a life - time.
We teach parents effective communication when it comes to behavior modification. The toddler years and even early school age can be some of the most challenging times. We teach behavior modification skills that work and are tailored to fit the needs of every family. No two children are ever the same and what works for one child may not work for the other. We can help you to find out what works.
